# Masset + HubSpot: a door into the home from where your team already works.

Content recommendations show up right on the Contact, Company, and Deal record. Every share ties back to the right record, and every open, download, or re-share writes straight to the HubSpot Timeline.

## Primary Actions

- [Watch a demo](https://www.getmasset.com/demo)
- [See the Salesforce integration](https://www.getmasset.com/software/integrations/salesforce)
- [Explore all integrations](https://www.getmasset.com/software/integrations)

## What It Does End to End

- **Content recommendations right on the record.** A Masset card appears on any Contact, Company, or Deal record in HubSpot, surfacing relevant approved content without anybody leaving the record.
- **Share without leaving the deal.** Search and share a Masset asset straight from the card, and the share is automatically associated with the Contact, Company, or Deal you were looking at.
- **Engagement writes to the Timeline.** Every open, re-share, or download of a shared asset posts as an Activity entry on that record's HubSpot Timeline, so reps and managers see who engaged and when.
- **Downloads always route through Masset.** The raw file itself is never uploaded to HubSpot. The card shows the asset name, a description, a preview image, and AI-generated answer hints. Opening or downloading it sends someone through Masset first.

### Where Masset Shows Up in HubSpot

- **Contact:** search Masset content, share it, and see Timeline engagement, right on the record.
- **Company:** same card, same search, same Timeline writeback, scoped to the Company record.
- **Deal:** same card, same search, same Timeline writeback, scoped to the Deal record.
- **Ticket:** not yet supported. On the roadmap.

## Setup

Getting HubSpot connected is one small piece of onboarding to Masset. Full platform onboarding is measured in hours, not months.

1. **Install from HubSpot or Masset.** A Masset Admin and a HubSpot Admin (the same person works fine) install the app from the HubSpot Marketplace, or from Masset's Profile, then Integrations page.
2. **Everyone connects their own HubSpot account.** Each person who wants search, share, and Timeline writeback to work for them associates their HubSpot account with their Masset account. Without that association, per-user permissions can't be enforced.
3. **Narrow what syncs, if you need to.** Read access to Contacts, Companies, and Deals is required for the card to render. If your team has stricter data-privacy requirements, contact support to restrict which fields sync.

## Engagement Tied to the Deal

When a prospect opens, re-shares, or downloads a Masset asset, that activity posts to the HubSpot Timeline of the Contact, Company, or Deal it was shared from. Nobody has to log it by hand. See the [Salesforce integration](https://www.getmasset.com/software/integrations/salesforce) for the same content and engagement story from the other side of the CRM stack.

## The Locks

- **Only a name, a description, and a preview show up.** The HubSpot card displays the asset name, description, a small preview image, and AI-generated answer hints. The raw file is never uploaded to HubSpot.
- **Downloads always route through Masset.** Opening or downloading a shared asset always sends someone through Masset first, where their own permissions are checked.
- **Only Id and name ever come back to Masset.** Masset reads Contact id, first name, and last name; Company id and name; and Deal id and name. Nothing else comes across from HubSpot.
- **No AI inside the integration itself.** The HubSpot connection doesn't use AI, LLMs, or machine learning. It's a content card and a Timeline writeback. Masset never uses HubSpot data to train any model.

## FAQs

### Does the HubSpot integration use AI?

No. The HubSpot integration itself doesn't use AI, LLMs, or machine learning. It shows recommended content on the record and writes engagement to the Timeline automatically. Masset's AI assistant, Myca, is available separately in Slack and Microsoft Teams and the Masset app.

### Does every person need to connect their own HubSpot account?

Yes. After the org-level install, every person who wants search, share, and Timeline writeback to work for them needs to associate their own HubSpot account with their Masset account, so per-user permissions can be enforced.

### What does HubSpot actually send to Masset?

Only Contact id, first name, and last name; Company id and name; and Deal id and name. Nothing else. If your team needs to restrict this further, contact support@getmasset.com and they'll help identify which fields to include or exclude.

### Does Masset write anything to HubSpot besides Timeline events?

No. Masset writes Activity entries to the Timeline of the associated Contact, Company, or Deal when a shared asset is opened, re-shared, or downloaded. The raw asset file is never uploaded to HubSpot.
