A Rocky Start... With Cameras
This week kicked off with a half-hour battle between Tyler and his camera setup. Despite having identical gear, Tyler couldn't get the colors just right. (Ben's looked great, by the way.) Tyler stubbornly refused to ask his photographer wife for help—but we made it work.
A New Direct Mailer Idea
Ben had a new idea he sprung on Tyler during our recording: a direct mailer concept featuring two hourglasses.
- Hourglass 1 (Masset): Pink sand, 30 seconds.
- Hourglass 2 (No Masset): Black sand, 1 hour.
The idea is simple: Masset makes finding content infinitely faster. Open the box, and you immediately get the message.
We loved the proposed headline:
"If your content is hard to find, your revenue is too."
Other details:
- Full Masset branding on the box and the hourglasses.
- A QR code linking to a landing page.
- Estimated cost: around $2,000 to $2,500 for 500 kits, including packaging and shipping.
- Rolling send-out plan: 20 per week to keep the follow-up manageable.
It's a creative way to stand out—a reminder that good marketing doesn't have to be loud, just thoughtful and useful.
HubSpot Integration: Almost Ready
On Tyler's side, it was all about HubSpot, HubSpot, HubSpot.
We're nearing completion of our Masset HubSpot integration, and it's shaping up to be better than we expected. Here's a quick look at what we're excited about:
- Seamless setup: No friction when installing.
- Fast, intuitive content search: Find and share content with a contact record without leaving HubSpot.
- Tracking built-in: Automatically tracks content shares by contact, company, and deal.
- Feedback loops: If users can't find content, marketing teams get pinged.
- Revenue attribution: For the first time, you can trace specific content pieces directly to closed deals.
This integration closes a loop we've wanted to close since founding Masset: tying content directly to revenue. It’s gratifying to see that early vision becoming a reality.
