Our Story

We started with why.

We believe that brands with the best stories will win. Not the biggest budgets. Not the most features. The best stories, told consistently, everywhere.

The humans behind Masset.

A small, scrappy team from Utah that punches way above its weight.

Benjamin Ard

Benjamin Ard

Co-Founder & CEO

Ben is a husband, a dad to four boys, and somehow still standing. His wife is a genuine saint for keeping the whole operation running — there's a lot of boy energy in that house. When he's not building Masset, you'll find the family camping, exploring the outdoors, or wrangling friends and family into some kind of adventure. He's been in marketing and sales his whole career and started Masset because he kept watching great content get ignored by the people it was made for.

Tyler Russell

Tyler Russell

Co-Founder & CTO

Tyler spends most of his day juggling five wonderful kids and building a company he loves. When he gets a moment to himself, he's either running, mountain biking, or crashing RC planes with over-confidence. He grew up on angsty punk rock, owns way too many game systems for how little he uses them, and strongly believes nature is best enjoyed with a hot shower and a real bed afterward. His career has been built around data and technology and helping the two play nice together.

The Elephant in the Room

Yeah, it's just the two of us.

Masset competes directly with companies that have hundreds of engineers, massive sales floors full of cold-callers, VP-level managers for their VP-level managers, and marketing budgets that make ours look like a rounding error. We know this. And honestly? We think it's our biggest advantage.

The bigger a software company gets, the further removed their product team gets from the actual customer.

There's a product manager talking to a customer success rep talking to a sales rep talking to the customer. By the time feedback reaches the people building the product, it's been filtered, prioritized, deprioritized, put in a backlog, and quietly forgotten. We don't have that problem. When you tell us something doesn't work — or something you need — you're talking directly to the people who built it. And who will fix it.

Our product features came directly from customer conversations. Not from market research decks or competitor analysis. From real people telling us exactly what was making their lives harder. And because we have no backlog committee, no red tape, no internal approval chain — we can actually build those things. Not "maybe in Q4." Not "let me take that to the roadmap team." We build what makes sense, when it makes sense. We've even done custom builds for customers when something specific was mission-critical for their team.

½ the price

of our biggest competitors, with the same enterprise features

0 cold calls

we don't have a sales floor — just two people who actually care

SOC 2

plus SSO, SCIM, and role-based access — the real stuff your IT team needs

And because we're not paying for all that overhead — the cold-callers, the middle management layers, the office politics, the red tape — we can charge half of what our competitors charge and still build a better product. No per-seat pricing. No forced annual contracts. No surprise add-ons. You get everything we have from day one.

You still get all the enterprise-grade stuff your IT team actually needs. SOC 2 certified. SSO. SCIM provisioning. Role-based access. We built all of it — not as upsells, but because our customers are real businesses with real security requirements and they deserve a tool that takes that seriously. We just didn't build a company around selling those things as line items.

Fewer people between you and the product means the product actually fits your needs.

We're two people who love this problem and are obsessed with building something that works. We'll never be the biggest DAM vendor. But we plan to be the one our customers brag about — not just because the price is right, but because when they need something, someone who actually cares picks up the phone.

The Problem

We lived the pain.

As marketers and sellers ourselves, we watched great content die in Google Drive folders while sales teams recreated assets that already existed. We saw brand stories fragment with every new hire, every new tool, every AI prompt.

The Insight

It wasn't a content problem. It was an alignment problem.

The best companies don't just create great content — they make sure everyone can find it, use it, and trust it. They don't just tell a great story — they make sure every touchpoint tells the same story.

The Mission

Brands with the best stories win.

We built Masset to align the entire business — people, tools, and AI — around the right story. Not just store content. Align it. Make it findable, usable, trustable, and measurable.

Our Why

We align the business and their tools around the right story — and make it easy and fun to do it.

Because when everyone in your organization can find, use, and trust the right content — you don't just avoid story drift. You become unstoppable.

How we show up.

Three projects. In this order. Every day.

01

Make Customers Raving Fans

Everything starts here. If our customers aren't winning — loudly, visibly, enthusiastically — nothing else matters. Month-to-month contracts because we earn your business every single day.

02

Grow the Business

We're building something that lasts. That means finding the right customers, telling the right story, and growing in a way we're proud of. No vanity metrics. No growth at any cost.

03

Business Operations

The boring stuff. Keeping the lights on, staying compliant, running the systems that make everything else possible. We do it well so we never have to think about it.

Made in Utah

We're proud to build here.

Masset is built in Utah, and that's not an accident. Utah has one of the most underrated tech communities in the country — scrappy, values-driven builders who actually care about what they're making. We fit right in.

There's something about building in a place where people still shake hands and mean it. Where a strong work ethic isn't a cliché — it's just Tuesday. Where you can drive 20 minutes and be completely off the grid in some of the most incredible landscape on the planet. That environment shapes how we think and how we build.

We serve customers all over the world, and we're proud of that too. But Utah is in our DNA. The culture, the community, the mountains — it's all part of what makes Masset, Masset.
